Greenflag Community Guidelines
Greenflag exists to put positive signal back into dating. Your profile is built by the people who know you best, and that only works if Greenflag stays a place built on honesty, respect, and safety. These Community Guidelines apply to everyone — daters and the friends who vouch for them — and to everything you do on Greenflag: your photos, your pitch and vouches, your messages, your Public Deck, and how you treat other people on and off the app.
These Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service. Breaking them can cost you content, features, or your account. For the most serious harms — anything involving minors, credible threats, or exploitation — we act immediately and, where appropriate, involve law enforcement.
If you ever feel unsafe, trust your instincts, leave the situation, and contact local emergency services. To report something on Greenflag, use the in-app report button or email safety@trygreenflag.com.
The Greenflag spirit
- Be real. Be yourself, and let your friends speak honestly about you.
- Be kind. Treat people the way you'd want your friends' matches to treat them.
- Keep people safe. Look out for others the way a good friend looks out for you.
1. Be real — authenticity
- You must be at least 18 years old and the real person in your photos.
- Use recent, accurate photos of yourself. No catfishing, stolen photos, heavily misleading images, or pretending to be someone you're not.
- Don't impersonate anyone — including celebrities, brands, or other users — and don't create fake profiles or fake vouches.
- Vouches must be sincere and written by the friend they're attributed to. Don't fake a relationship, buy or trade vouches, or vouch for someone you don't actually know.
- Complete photo verification honestly. Don't try to defeat or game verification.
2. Be respectful — harassment and hate
We have zero tolerance for:
- Harassment and bullying — threats, intimidation, stalking, repeated unwanted contact (on or off Greenflag), body-shaming, or cruel comments about someone's appearance, identity, trauma, or mental health.
- Respect the no. If someone unmatches you, stops replying, or asks for space, respect it. Don't try to reach them through other accounts, track them down on social media, or pursue them off Greenflag. No one owes you a conversation, a date, or an explanation.
- Sextortion, blackmail, and doxxing — never threaten to share someone's images or information, and never publish someone's private or identifying information without consent.
- Hate speech and discrimination — slurs, dehumanizing or hateful content, or attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
3. Keep it consensual — sexual content and misconduct
- Never send unsolicited sexual or nude images. Sending unwanted explicit content is grounds for an immediate ban, whether it happens on or off Greenflag.
- Keep profiles, pitches, and Public Decks free of nudity, sexually explicit, or graphic content.
- Zero tolerance for sexual exploitation, coercion, or non-consensual content. Sharing or threatening to share intimate images without consent is never allowed.
4. Protect minors — absolute rule
- Greenflag is adults only (18+). No one under 18 may use Greenflag, appear as a dater, or be the subject of a profile.
- We have zero tolerance for any content or behavior that sexualizes or endangers minors, including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, or trafficking. We remove it, ban the account, preserve evidence, and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or law enforcement as required by law.
- Don't post photos of unaccompanied or unclothed children, even your own family photos.
5. No violence, exploitation, or illegal activity
- No threats of violence, promotion of violence, or content depicting or facilitating serious harm.
- No human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or solicitation of illegal acts.
- No promoting or selling illegal drugs, weapons, or other regulated or illegal goods; no weapons or gore in profile content.
- Follow the law. Don't use Greenflag to commit, plan, or facilitate any crime.
6. No commercial use, spam, or scams
- Greenflag is for dating and connection, not business. No advertising, promotion, recruiting, fundraising, multi-level-marketing, escorting, sex work, or "sugar"/financial-arrangement solicitation.
- No romance scams, phishing, fraud, or requests for money, gift cards, crypto, or financial help.
- No spam, bots, mass messaging, or pushing people off Greenflag to suspicious external links or platforms.
- Don't buy, sell, or transfer accounts, scrape data, or use automation to access Greenflag.
7. Respect privacy
- Don't share other people's private information — phone numbers, addresses, workplaces, or anything identifying — without their consent.
- Remember that a Public Deck can be viewed by anyone with the link and can be screenshotted or re-shared. Only include what the dater and their friends are comfortable making visible.
- Get consent before including someone else (in a photo, a story, or a vouch) in profile content.
- Don't publish screenshots of someone's private messages, profile, or vouches to shame, harass, or expose them.
8. Care, not punishment — self-harm and crisis
If someone shares that they're struggling, lead with compassion. We don't punish people for being in crisis. Content that promotes or glorifies self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders isn't allowed, but our goal is to connect people with support resources, not to penalize them. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services and report it to us.
9. How we enforce these Guidelines
How we find issues. We use a combination of member reports, automated detection, and human Trust & Safety review. Every conversation has a one-tap report flow, and you can report a profile or Public Deck at any time.
Use these tools in good faith. Report honestly — don't file false or bad-faith reports, and don't report someone just because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or another protected characteristic. If you're banned, don't come back under a new account or someone else's. And please treat our support and safety team the way you'd treat anyone else here — with respect.
What we do. Depending on the severity and history, we may:
- remove or hide content;
- issue a warning;
- limit a profile's distribution in discovery, or temporarily hide it;
- send a private friend-aware accountability signal to a user's Vouchers when a pattern of reports emerges — changing behavior upstream without public shaming;
- suspend or permanently ban an account.
Immediate bans. The most serious violations — anything involving minors, CSAM, credible threats of violence, sexual exploitation, organized harassment, or serious fraud — result in immediate removal and a ban, with reports to authorities where required.
Appeals. If you believe we got it wrong, you can appeal by emailing safety@trygreenflag.com within 6 months of the action. We'll re-review and, if we made a mistake, restore your content or account.
10. A note for friends and vouchers
When you build a pitch or leave a vouch, you're putting your name behind someone. Be honest and kind. Don't write anything you wouldn't say to that person's face or in front of the person they might match with. The trust you lend is exactly what makes Greenflag work — please don't spend it on anyone who won't treat people well.
